VirtualBox 5.1.2.108956

Description:

VirtualBox is a general-purpose full virtualizer for x86 hardware. Targeted at server, desktop and embedded use, it is now the only professional-quality virtualization solution that is also Open Source Software.
Some of the features of VirtualBox are:
  • Modularity. VirtualBox has an extremely modular design with well-defined internal programming interfaces and a client/server design. This makes it easy to control it from several interfaces at once: for example, you can start a virtual machine in a typical virtual machine GUI and then control that machine from the command line, or possibly remotely. VirtualBox also comes with a full Software Development Kit: even though it is Open Source Software, you don't have to hack the source to write a new interface for VirtualBox.
  • Virtual machine descriptions in XML. The configuration settings of virtual machines are stored entirely in XML and are independent of the local machines. Virtual machine definitions can therefore easily be ported to other computers.

.NET Framework 4.6 offline/standalone installer (x86/x64)

Description:

Since public availability of Windows 8 is set to date Oct 26 Microsoft is giving more than two months’ time for developers to build their apps on this platform. Since .NET framework 4.5 is component of Windows 8 you don’t need to install this in Windows 8 when it is released or made available to public (in fact DP and RP of Windows 8 comes with .NET 4.5 by default), you can install .NET 4.5 in Windows 7 and Windows Vista, yes! you can’t install .NET 4.5 in Windows XP.

Many apps on Windows require .NET framework to be installed to run, this framework is also required for developers to build apps .NET 4.5 has more significance with Windows 8 -developers using .NET 4.5 along with Visual Basic or C# programming language can write metro style apps for Windows 8.

Microsoft .NET Framework Editor's Review

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 is a recent development platform designed to help developers build new Windows apps. The programme builds on the previous Framework 2.0 and Framework 3.0 and features all the programmes you could need to run .NET-based systems on your PC. These include .NET Framework 2.0 service pack 1, and .NET Framework 3.0 service pack 1, as well as optimised HTML and CSS and management support for Windows .

The .NET Framework is commonly used to boost all complex applications in Windows, and there are many new features added to the 3.5 version, including full support for tooling in Visual Studio 2008, and new workflow-enabled services; new web protocol support for WCF building; and deep integration of data awareness and Language Integrated Query. The latter will allow users with Framework 3.5 to write LINQ-enabled code, making it easier to filter and create DataSets and collections using the same syntax.

There are also vital improvements made to the CLR (common language runtime) and improved start-up and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) performance.

In Windows 7 and Windows Vista you shouldn’t need to uninstall previous versions of .NET framework such as .NET 3.5 and .NET 4.0 because those dependent apps on that Framework may fail to work.
